Tap tap tap....bang bang bang...
This is the sound that continues to eminate from Jennifer's room at 9:15pm as she chats to herself and makes up little games. The experience of having one of her little sister's at home has been, to say the least, an exciting one for 2 year old Jennifer. Her interest in Caitlyn continues to be high and her expressions of love are truly endearing. I was nervous initially to have just one of the girls home at a time however, this has been a great transition for Jennifer and she has quickly learned the "rules" about being around babies - well, she is just 2 so we still need to reinforce these a lot! She is a great big sister, albeit a tired one.
We are all a bit tired. Last night Jer was able to take a couple of the night time feeds which allowed for a shorter turn around time for me and the luxury of sleeping through the 5am feeding. I felt almost refreshed this morning! Jer however, at about 2 pm today, could be seen staring blankly ahead and repeating "cooffffeee". Jer and I both will have to hone the art and discipline of sleeping and napping when we can - these 4 girls are going to be BUSY!!
Speaking of the girls - all are well. Once again, Caitlyn and I made our daily outing to the hospital and had some time with Emily and Heather. Emily welcomed Caitlyn back into the crib by reaching out with her hand and placing it firmly on Caitlyn's eye then proceeded to push her fist repeatedly into Caitlyn. Caitlyn was oblivious to this and like previous days fell into a deep slumber with a smile on her face.
Emily and I had a nice cuddle - there is little to report of news with any of the girls, all are doing famously. Heather and I had lunch together although, she must have had a busy morning as she fell asleep in the middle of it and needed to be tube fed. Regardless, we had a great time together. All the girls gained great weight - even Caitlyn, who has been lagging in her gains, put on a whopping 60 grams (barring I used the scale correctly)...she and Heather are neck and neck for weight. Emily cracked the 5 lb mark last night and came in at 5 lbs 1 oz if my memory is correct.
So far we're all still standing (so to speak) and getting closer to welcoming all the girls home....Jer is searching for his male dog now to balance the boy-girl ratio in the house!
Hope you sleep well - send some our way!
