Although out of focus (camera battery died right after this shot) this picture summarizes the day pretty well....
Heather, Caitlyn, and Emily with Grandpa Bill
Caitlyn not only is bottle feeding exclusively (notice no tube in her nose) - she again showed her prowess and mastered breast-feeding on the first try!! This is the same girl that was so sick just a few days ago - a great turn around! She has gained weight again and once again is the biggest of the three girls.
Emily also had a great day - she continues to work her way up in the amount that she is tolerating from a bottle and continues to get some of her milk through the tube -- as she grows stronger, she will become more efficient and master the suck-swallow-breath technique. She is being kept under close watch as her nose is somewhat stuffy however, so far nothing to worry about.
Heather is adorable with her "unfortunate haircut" and captures you every time with her big beautiful eyes. She and I had to have yet another chat today after she dropped her oxygen levels to a worrisome level. This is something she needs to work through and will continue to overcome as she gains weight, strength and maturity.....the chats don't hurt either!
Emily and Heather had their first "fist" fight today - witnessed by Papa and Grandpa Bill....Yes, Papa actually got in to see the girls today --YAY!! - anyway back to the story -- Emily decided to stretch her arm right into Heather's nose/eye -- Heather didn't quite know what to make of the whole thing especially when little Emily decided not to move her fist!! I'm sure there will be more of this in the future...
Anyway - a long day but, to date, the best day!!
Now it's time to collapse!
